At-camp staff and volunteers are a crucial component to the unique age-based programming for each week of Northern Pines. CCAs, Children's Program Teachers, Youth Program Counselors, and more; Northern Pines looks for engaging and motivated youth, young adults, and adults to serve in these crucial positions each conference week. Please review our Staff Standards and Expectations before applying.

Youth Service Opportunities

Youth campers often choose to stay a second week to serve either as a CCA or a Tribal Leader in the Wilderness. Others choose to only attend one week in their service role, or serve both weeks.

CCAs at Northern Pines aid the Children's Program. They assist an assigned class during the morning programing and are assigned a specific family to babysit each evening. Wilderness Tribal leaders are counselors for our fourth- through sixth-grade campers. They spend most of their day with their "tribe" with support from the Wilderness staff.

Young Adult Service Opportunities

The staff in our youth programs are FULLY engaged in the program. They stay with the campers, eat their meals together, and run around playing games and night games together. Counselors in the Junior High, Senior High, and CCA programs are assigned small groups of the same gender. Wilderness staff are not assigned a specific small group, but support the Tribal Leaders in various roles and lead various portions of the program. Young adults can also serve as teachers in the Children's program, with the youth programs as the week's photographer or on the worship team, or a young adult CCAs.

Adult Service Opportunities

Adults can serve the Northern Pines Ministry in several ways—at camp and during the year. During the week, teachers lead classes in the Children's Program and then have their afternoons and evenings free. Members of our prayer team are registered conferees who volunteer to pray together after the Adult Program sessions. There are also opportunities to serve during each week through Green Lake Conference Center.

One weekend each spring, there is an opportunity for men to serve with a range of physical projects to help both GLCC and Northern Pines.
